Main Aim
To improve educators’ competences in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to promote meta-learning among students with special educational needs (SEN), enabling learners to develop stronger self-awareness, self-regulation, and strategic learning skills across different subjects.
Target Groups
Primary target groups
- School educators and support staff working with students with SEN
- Teachers of inclusive education and subject teachers in partner schools
Secondary target groups
- Students with special educational needs (indirect beneficiaries)
- School management and pedagogical coordinators
- Teacher trainers and education policy stakeholders
Objectives
- By month 6, identify at least 8 most common SEN profiles across partner schools and map existing meta-learning practices through a transnational needs assessment involving a minimum of 150 educators.
- By month 12, develop and validate an AI-supported Meta-Learning Curriculum and Toolkit addressing at least 8 SEN profiles, including practical AI use cases adaptable to different school subjects.
- By month 15, train at least 18 educators (minimum 6 per school partner) through a 5-day international capacity-building programme focused on applying AI-based meta-learning strategies in SEN education.
- By month 20, implement and test the developed tools through local teacher trainings (minimum 45 educators) and a pilot programme in at least 3 partner schools, reaching a minimum of 60 students with SEN.
- By project end, demonstrate measurable improvement in educators’ competences and students’ meta-learning skills, evidenced by pre- and post-test results showing at least a 25% increase in self-regulation and learning strategy awareness indicators.
- By project end, produce at least one peer-reviewed scientific article analysing the effectiveness of AI-supported meta-learning strategies for students with SEN, based on data collected during the pilot phase.
