Main aim: to equip young women from disadvantaged backgrounds with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate online spaces safely, recognize and respond to online gender-based violence (OGBV), and engage as informed digital citizens.

Objectives:

1. Equip youth, especially young women from disadvantaged groups, with critical digital and media literacy skills to safely navigate and engage in online spaces.

2. Strengthen the capacity of these individuals to recognize, respond to, and recover from instances of OGBV and online harassment.

3.  Encourage and facilitate the active participation of youth in online discussions and civic activities, fostering their role as informed and engaged digital citizens.

4.  Develop and disseminate tools such as the e-Safety Toolkit and Card Game to educate youth about online safety and the implications of OGBV.

5.   Work towards creating online environments where all individuals, regardless of gender or background, can participate without fear of harassment or discrimination.

Activities:

International Meeting in Spain | March 2025

An international meeting took place in Spain on 14 March 2025, focusing on digital safety awareness and online risks affecting women and girls. Participants explored topics such as cyber harassment, data protection, phishing, and online privacy, while also working with the Digital eSafety Toolkit and discussing practical strategies for safer online behaviour.

Development of Toolkit, Card Game and Handbook

Throughout the project, partners developed website www.esafetywomen.com and key educational tools, including the Digital eSafety Toolkit, an interactive card game, and a handbook. These resources provide practical guidance and creative methods for improving digital literacy and promoting safe online behaviour among young people, especially women. Here is the outputs’ links;

Local Trainings in Partner Countries | 2025

Local trainings were organised in partner countries to test and implement the project’s outputs in practice. Activities focused on digital literacy, online safety, and online gender-based violence, using interactive methods such as group discussions, scenario-based learning, video creation, and poster design. The trainings were delivered through multiple sessions over several days, involving approximately 7–28 participants in each activity, including young women and youth workers.

Project Management and Dissemination Activities

Project management, online coordination, and dissemination activities were carried out throughout the project to ensure effective implementation and visibility. Partners organised events, shared results, and engaged local communities to promote the project’s outcomes.

Results:

1.     A measurable decrease in the instances of OGBV experienced by the target groups.

2.   Increased Participation: Higher levels of participation by disadvantaged youth in online forums, discussions, and civic activities.

3.     Wider recognition and understanding of the challenges of OGBV within the community, leading to more supportive and inclusive online environments.

4.    Effective use of the e-Safety Toolkit and Card Game in various settings, demonstrating their utility in educating about online safety.

5.  Enhanced self-efficacy and confidence among young women and disadvantaged youth in navigating the digital world.
